|Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind Vacuum|
The Hoover T-Series WindTunel Rewind Bagless Vacuum really packs a punch for how inexpensive it is. While it is not the most expensive bagless vacuum made by Hoover, it still does a really good job at cleaning carpets. If you are looking for a vacuum for under $100, then this is one to consider.
Hoover Windtunnel T Series Review
The suction power of this vacuum is definitely not lacking. Many consumers rave about how impressed they are with the cleaning ability this vacuum has, especially when you cosider the $100 price point it sits at. During our testing it scored really well at picking up hidden dirt off of the carpeting. It also did really well at cleaning up pet hair with the actual vacuum. It definitely scored better with cleaning carpet than it did with clean hard flooring. There were mixed feelings with consumers about this vacuums ability to clean hardwood floors and tile. This exact model does not has a brushroll shutoff switch so when you are cleaning hardwood floors it continues to run. This can cause to problems. The first is that it can actually damage your flooring if it rests to low and the brushroll actually hits the hardwood flooring. In most cases this did not actually happen, but its one of those things some consumers just don’t want to worry about. The second issue is that with he brushroll running it can actually blow dirt and fur around on the hard surfaces making it more difficult to actual suck up. There were some people that felt this model did a good job of cleaning up dirt and pet hair off of hard flooring without actually blowing it around, so this particular point can be more of a preference thing that an actual issue. For those that are really concerned about this, there is a pet version (UH70210)of this exact vacuum that does have a switch to turn off the brushroll while cleaning hard flooring. So that could be a great option for you if you feel turned away because of this issue. Another issue that can cause some loss of suction is when pet hair or other hair gets stuck in the canister. This can be a little tricky to clean out, but many users have come up with very creative solutions to keeping this clean without getting their hands dirty. Its important to keep it clean to help maintain maximum suction efficiency.
One nice feature it does come with is the ability to adjust to different heights when cleaning different size carpet pile or when cleaning hard surfaces. This is a welcomed feature that we found to be very convenient. The T-Series WindTunel Rewind excels when used on carpeting and can be a wonderful choice if your home is mostly carpeted and you want some great suction for a low price.
At this point it should be easy to see that this vacuum has great suction power for the price. One area that may turn people away from this particular model is how easy it is to use. It seems like most current owners of this vacuum have very mixed feelings in this area. Going through the pros and cons here should help to determine whether this model fits your requirements and needs for a great inexpensive vacuum.
This vacuum is lightweight for an upright, it only weighs 16.5 lbs and it is very easy to use. It works great for cleaning in small spaces, it can get right into those nooks and crannies that many other vacuums are not able to. It runs relatively quietly in comparison to its competitors, which makes it a good choice for those that vacuum late at night, early in the morning, or while kids are napping. One bonus feature it comes with is the Rewind power cord. Many higher end models do not come with a retractable cord and most users feel this feature on this vacuum adds a lot of value for the price. The attachment moving brush that is included with this model does and excellent job at cleaning stairs and upholstery. Some consumers that own T-Series WindTunnel Rewind commented that when you first start to use this vacuum it almost feels like it is actually self propelled even though it really isn’t. This just shows how easy it is to move around while cleaning your floors. The vacuum is also very easy to assemble right out of the box, the included instructions provide easy to understand steps to help you put it together out of the box.
There are a number of things that this particular vacuum does not excel at. Some of you may find these things to not be very important, while others maybe consider purchasing a different vacuum model. To start off the power cord is just below average length coming in at only 27 feet. This is definitely long enough to get the job done in most rooms of your home, but some people prefer a little bit longer power cord. If you have stairs that are carpeted, some people didn’t feel that this vacuum was light enough to go up and down the stairs with. We felt differently here because the vacuum only weighs 16.5 lbs and is on the lightweight end of most upright vacuum models. It does not come with a light on the front, but this is not a big deal in most cases. Some people prefer to have extra light to see what is getting sucked up, but others don’t consider this to be a negative at all just a preference thing. The power cord leaves the vacuum casing on the bottom by the floor, this made it a little bit difficult to avoid stepping on it and in some cases it got in the way a little bit while actually vacuuming. Most people can avoid this issue by holding the cord up with their free hand while using the vacuum. Like with most bagless canisters it can be a little messy to empty the canister. To fix this its always best to just empty the canister outside and the whole issue is averted and should not be a deterrent for purchasing this product, unless you just prefer bagged over bagless.
The Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind Bagless Vacuum offers good value for the amount of money it costs to purchase. Being around the $100 price point, it would be considered a low-end model. This isn’t a bad thing though. If you are someone on a tight budget and your only option is something in this price range, then this should definitely be one that is on your short list of choices. Just remember in most cases you do get what you pay for. Since you are only paying around $100 you won’t have as good of warranty from Hoover as you would with some of their higher end models. This one comes with a 2 year warranty, while some of there more expensive vacuums come with a 6 year warranty. This budget vacuum can still last you a number of years and can server you well. We feel that a vacuum in this price range is worth buying if you can get two years of solid use out of it. We expect this model to last anywhere from 2 to 5 years before you will need a replacement. This doesn’t mean it can’t last longer, but you should feel like you got your moneys worth if it works well for 2 full years.
Some of the common issues to note include the following. The belt can slip off easily. This is something that can be easy to fix and put back on, but some consumers do find it annoying. The vacuum height adjustment tool can stop working over time and you can be stuck and one setting making it difficult to go from carpet to hardwood or even from low pile to high pile carpet. Another common issues is that the small red trim square that sits around the power cord on the vacuum can break easily. The plastic it is made of is flimsy. The good news is that if this breaks it has zero affect on how well the vacuum operates. It is purely just a cosmetic issue. The last thing you should be aware of is that there was a recall issued for some of these vacuums from the rewind power cord feature and a possible shock and fire hazard. This was only certain products that had a specific manufacture date and a certain code located on the product. If you were to buy this vacuum today you should be avoiding this issue altogether as the new ones should have this issue fixed on them already.
With the Windtunnel Rewind, you get pretty good filtration. You get:
- Quality HEPA Filter
- No filters or bags to buy – the filter is a lifetime filter, which keeps the cost on the vacuum down.
The bottom line is if you need a good, cheap vacuum with good filtration, then this one would work great.
The Hoover T-Series WindTunel Rewind Bagless Vacuum is one of the most popular vacuums ever sold by Hoover. Key points to keep in mind are:
- Only $100 – great value for the price, and one of the best vacuums you can buy for less than $100
- Great suction power. While not as strong as some of the more expensive models, it is still a very effective vacuum at cleaning your carpets
The only real downside we have with this vacuum is that you can’t expect it to last much longer than 2-4 years, although that isn’t bad for what you are paying.
